I predict these services will fail eventually. I realize the concept behind this is that broadband connections have progressed to the point where this kind of hosting is possible. My thoughts are that the latency would have an effect on the gameplay in some way. Millisecond timing is important in many games, and I can see control issues popping up because of it. I also recognize that as broadband connections get better, there is also less disparity in hardware from PCs manufactured in the past 4 years. Pretty much everything has a dual core in it nowadays and a good amount of memory in it these days. While the dedicated video hardware isn't there yet, I think there will be less of a need for this kind of service as time goes on.
