I agree about the horrid layout... but I can't afford to host or have my own domain.. so until I can.. I have to deal with what they give me. My portfolio is hosted through Deviant Art which thankfully looks better...
Unless you're referring to my choice in colors... in which case I hate to say it but that's a matter of opinion.

You need a brighter background. You can keep the black if there's another pattern in it, but otherwise it sucks in the pictures and makes the whole thing hard to read.
Also, if you're gonna slap the text around anywhere, it should be on the left, not the right.
Actually... something here needs to be centered, cuz otherwise it looks off balance.

The television appears to have burst into flames and is the cause of the trauma to his hands. The paramedics report they were unable to find his eyes. I think he may have eaten them."

Well when you break your firefox, reinstalling doesn't help, chrome acts like a bitch and opera is shit (it is imo) then you'll understand

p.s. Ie is shit and I miss firefox.
THE MORAL OF THE STORY HERE IS DON'T GO MESSING WITH THINGS INSIDE YOUR FAVORITE BROWSER EVEN IF YOU UNDERSTAND EXACTLY WHAT THEY DO.

I agree with this. In chrome lots of the stuff gets cutoff on the right side. It looks like a Myspace page. :/ There have to be better layouts available in wordpress.

I would try making things more central. Everything is scattered about the page in 2 frameish views that don't really work for low resolution. Just as example, here is my sister's blogspot site. The center alignment really helps the browser scaling.

I agree with Fire; the lack of borders with the black background completely throws me. Other than that, the color scheme is good, with the white on black and the sort of rosy text for the sidebar. The large amount of blank space above everything looks weird, though; is there any way to fix that? (I'm in IE8.)

Agreed on the site though, the alignment is throwing me off. And pure black is rarely a good thing. Even in portfolio style site. Although dark shades are used quite a bit.
